Together for Children has been by the side of the residents of Thessaly from the very first moment, following the devastating floods they experienced in September 2023. On the occasion of the start of the school year, Together for Children responded to the call of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs & Sports to collect school supplies for the children of Thessaly. A total of 2,650 boxes filled with school supplies were gathered in collaboration with All Together We Can and the Attica Region.

The support for the residents of Thessaly by Together for Children continued by meeting the needs of 3,500 large families in the prefectures of Trikala and Magnesia. In collaboration with the Panhellenic Union of Pharmaceutical Industry (PEF), through the Food Drive action and with the assistance of PEF employees and its member companies, 5.5 tons of food products, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene items were collected.

Additionally, the team from Together for Children, with the support of The Hellenic Initiative, provided the necessary medical equipment to restore the operation of the Local Health Unit (TOMY) of Giannouli, which had suffered severe damage. The Giannouli TOMY serves more than 8,000 permanent residents, handling on average 1,800 general medical cases and 640 pediatric cases annually.

Together for Children delivered the necessary medical equipment for the reopening of the Emergency Department at the Palamas Health Center in Thessaly, which had been completely destroyed by the floods that struck the area in September 2023. Thanks to this donation, the unit is now able to support the emergency needs of the 17,000 residents in the region. It is noted that the Emergency Department serves over 4,000 cases annually on average. The reopening of the medical facility was made possible with equipment provided by Together for Children, with the generous support of the following companies: HERACLES Group, Cepal Hellas, Goldair, and PwC Greece.

With the generous donation from the Union of Greek Shipowners, monthly assistance was provided for 7 months (July – December 2024) to 107 families with minor children. The beneficiaries total 387 people residing in 29 areas in the prefectures of Trikala, Karditsa, and Larisa, which were affected by the severe flooding.
