Together for Children & ELPEN Upgrade Primary Schools in Orestiada

With the valuable support of ELPEN, Together for Children has completed a series of upgrades at the 1st Primary School of Orestiada and the 11th Kindergarten of Orestiada in Evros, through its Remote Areas program, benefiting 232 students and 37 teachers.

The initiative aims to provide children in Orestiada with equal access to quality education by creating a modern, inspiring school environment equipped with contemporary learning resources. Beyond improving educational infrastructure, the project also strengthens the role of schools as centres of learning, creativity and community cohesion.

At the 1st Primary School of Orestiada, the city’s oldest school, the library was fully upgraded with new furnishings, enriched with more than 750 books, and complemented by a dedicated research area equipped with computers. The school also received an interactive teaching system, laptops, a printer-scanner, educational board games and additional classroom furniture.

At the 11th Kindergarten of Orestiada, a shared learning space featuring themed play and reading corners was created, while classrooms were equipped with modern educational materials, an interactive teaching system and a printer. These improvements enhance the learning experience and support the cognitive, social and emotional development of the 27 children attending the kindergarten.
