“Together for Children” and the Hellenic Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage inaugurated two cultural routes in Spetses in memory of Athina I. Martinos.
With an emotional ceremony held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Panagia Elona in Spetses, two new cultural routes dedicated to the memory of Athina I. Martinos were inaugurated. The project was implemented with the support of Together for Children in collaboration with the Hellenic Society for the Environment and Cultural Heritage (ELLET), as part of the “Cultural Routes” program, with the contribution of the Municipality of Spetses and the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses.
The ceremony began with a Divine Liturgy at Panagia Elona for those who wished to attend, while participants were also offered the opportunity to walk from Dapia to Panagia Elona accompanied by a guide. A blessing ceremony followed, along with brief addresses by representatives of the local authorities and partner organizations.
Specifically, welcome remarks were delivered by the Mayor of Spetses, Ms. Evangelia Fragia, the President of the Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses, Mr. Ioannis Aesopos, Mr. Thanasis Martinos from the Athanasios and Marina Martinos Foundation, Ms. Lydia Karrá, Founder and President of ELLET, and Ms. Alexandra Martinos, President of Together for Children. The event also featured a short historical presentation about the island by historian Mr. Adonis Kyrou.
The two routes—Trail 19, Ktima Chara – Zogeria, and Trail 5, Panagia Elona—connect some of the most beautiful locations on Spetses, highlighting the island’s natural beauty and cultural identity. As part of ELLET’s “Cultural Routes” network, they were designed to gently showcase the landscape, strengthen environmental awareness, and promote the sustainable development of the area, offering visitors a complete exploration experience.
The implementation of the routes was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Together for Children, honoring the memory of Athina Martinos and actively contributing to the creation of projects with meaningful social and cultural impact.
