Together for Children, with the support of Fraport Greece, stands by families and children in need

Together for Children, with the valuable support of Fraport Greece, strengthens vulnerable families and children across Greece, covering basic living needs and providing essential care to those who need it most.

Through the “Support for Vulnerable Families” program of Together for Children, families with underage children in 11 different regions of the country where Fraport Greece operates received vouchers for food and essential goods for a period of six months. Specifically, the program was implemented in the following areas: Aktio, Zakynthos, Corfu, Kefalonia, Kos, Mykonos, Mytilene, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, and Skiathos.

At the same time, within the framework of Together for Children’s “I Offer Because I Care” program, 13,800 meals were provided to 46 children living in child protection facilities in Thessaloniki, Kavala, and Crete—regions where the company operates through the management of the airports “Macedonia,” “Megas Alexandros,” and “Ioannis Daskalogiannis” (Chania), respectively. These meals fully covered the children’s nutrition for a period of two months.

A few words about the “Support for Vulnerable Families” program by Together for Children

The program “Support for Vulnerable Families” includes families with underage children based on income and social criteria, following referrals from municipal social services and other organizations or institutions to Together for Children. The social service team of Together for Children prioritizes requests for support and enrolls families into the program using transparent procedures and merit-based criteria. Families facing the highest levels of vulnerability are included for six months, regardless of nationality, religion, or political beliefs. Each family’s file is protected under data protection laws regarding sensitive personal information.

A few words about the “I Offer Because I Care” program

The “I Offer Because I Care” program was created in 2012 to support children living in institutions and/or supported by child protection agencies. More than 200 organizations across Greece are part of the program’s network, which supports 18,000 children annually by providing food, essential goods, school supplies, toys, clothing, footwear, and furniture.

The purpose of the program is to reduce socio-economic inequalities and create better living conditions for children and their families, while also contributing to the improvement of child protection facilities. Goods are collected year-round at the premises of Together for Children, in collaboration with schools of all levels, private sector companies, individuals, and the Food Bank. They are then evaluated, sorted, and distributed to partner organizations nationwide, according to their specific needs.

Would you like me to keep the words Together for Children and the program names in English, or would you prefer me to leave them in Greek (Μαζί για το Παιδί, «Στήριξη Ευάλωτων Οικογενειών», etc.) for authenticity?
