Food Collection by “Together for Children”

As part of the I Offer Because I Care program, Together for Children organized a food collection initiative on Friday, May 30, at the SKLAVENITIS store located in the Avenue shopping center.

The purpose of the initiative was to gather essential food items for children supported by the organization and cared for by child protection institutions. With the help of volunteers, basic necessities such as olive oil, legumes, honey, pasta, and other food items were collected. These goods will be distributed to five child protection organizations supported by Together for Children.

The active participation of students from Moraitis School and employees from Ayvens significantly contributed to the success of the initiative.

Ms. Matina Antoniou, Head of the I Offer Because I Care program, stated:
Together for Children continues its mission with consistency, aiming to provide meaningful support to children in need, proving that solidarity and collective contribution truly make a difference. I would like to sincerely thank our volunteers for their valuable participation. Their presence and involvement meant a great deal to us.”

About the “I Offer Because I Care” Program
The I Offer Because I Care program was launched in 2012 to support children living in residential care and/or supported by child protection organizations. More than 200 organizations across Greece participate in the program’s network, which supports over 18,000 children annually by providing food, essential goods, school supplies, toys, clothing, shoes, and furniture.

The program’s goal is to reduce socio-economic inequalities and improve living conditions for children and their families, while also supporting the improvement of care facilities. Goods are collected throughout the year at the Together for Children premises, in collaboration with schools of all levels, private sector companies, individuals, and the Food Bank. These items are then evaluated, sorted, and distributed to partner organizations across Greece according to their specific needs.
