“Together for Children”, in collaboration with the Department of Pedagogy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, has designed the educational program titled “STEM Education and Soft Skills”, aimed at being implemented free of charge for children and adolescents in public schools located in socially sensitive areas.
Purpose of the Program
The program aims to educate young students in STEM practices (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), digital skills, and soft skills, fostering holistic personal development in terms of knowledge, skills, competencies, and life attitudes.
STEM Education
The acronym STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. It refers to an educational method based on interdisciplinarity, exploratory and experiential learning, teamwork, combinatorial thinking, and problem-solving.
STEM encourages innovation by integrating scientific disciplines, which students explore and discover through real-world problems and scenarios.
Soft Skills
Soft skills encompass social communication, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, collaboration, and time management. They help children build good relationships, communicate effectively, listen and express their opinions, organize their time, manage responsibilities and deadlines, develop confidence, and become self-reliant.
Soft skills contribute to emotional intelligence, fostering healthy relationships and managing stress effectively. They enhance children’s ability to think critically, analyze, plan strategies, collaborate, and take on leadership roles.
Our program incorporates 35 skills essential for positive personal development, covering a wide range of life skills.
