Reconstruction of the Basketball Court at the 13th Primary School of Ioannina
Together for Children, with the generous support of bwin, has completed the reconstruction of the basketball court at the 13th Primary School of Ioannina, as part of the “Together at the Borderlands” program.
The project included the installation of a reinforced acrylic surface on the basketball court, new court markings, replacement of the backboards with new hoops and nets, and the addition of protective padding on the baskets. At the same time, the stands were repainted, giving the space a fresh new look. In addition, new sports equipment was delivered to further enhance the students’ daily exercise and physical activity.
The school has 260 students and 32 teachers, who now have access to a modern and upgraded sports facility.
Program Goal
The Together at the Borderlands program aims to ensure equal access to quality education and sports for children and young people living in Greece’s remote and border regions. Through its interventions, Together for Children and its partners support the development of infrastructure and the improvement of educational conditions in schools.
As Mrs. Errika Oikonomou, General Secretary of Together for Children, stated:

With the support of bwin, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks, we were able to offer the students of Ioannina a safe space for play and sports—an essential factor for their health and development. Thanks to this collaboration, we have already renovated 15 courts across Greece and remain committed to continuing this work.”
