Oral Hygiene Program Reaches More Than 500 Children in Child Protection Institutions
The initiative, implemented with the support of the Qualco Foundation, included visits to 12 child protection institutions in Attica, where a total of 543 children aged 3 to 12 are currently hosted.
Children living in child protection institutions often lack access to the necessary knowledge and resources for proper daily oral care. Maintaining oral hygiene is directly linked to overall health, proper body function, and well-being. It is crucial for children to understand that caring for their teeth is a daily habit that will accompany them throughout their lives.
During the visits, a volunteer dentist from Together for Children presented the importance of oral hygiene in an engaging and experiential way, offering children practical and useful advice. At the end of the session, the children received oral hygiene kits, kindly donated by Colgate-Palmolive, to support their daily dental care routine.
This initiative is part of Together for Children’s broader program “I Give Because I Care,” which aims to support children living in child protection institutions.
