Motherland: Mahasin Al Khashlok’s Exhibition for “Together for Children”
The “Motherland” exhibition, featuring works by Iraqi artist Mahasin Al Khashlok, concluded successfully. It was held at the impressive Amalias 36 venue from October 4-6. The artworks were donated by the artist to “Together for Children,” and all proceeds from their sales were directed toward supporting the organization’s work.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Friday, October 4, with many attendees admiring the unique pieces and contributing to “Together for Children” by purchasing the artworks. The exhibition, aptly titled “Motherland,” is not only a reflection of Mahasin Al Khashlok’s artistic expression but also a tribute to women and mothers. The works depict women from around the world in traditional attire, honoring the culture of each country while highlighting the strength and value of women.
Mahasin Al Khashlok was born in Baghdad and studied medicine, practicing it during the war period. Her experiences from her homeland deepened her admiration for women and profoundly influenced her creative journey. Since 1993, she has lived in Greece, pursuing her passion for art as a self-taught artist, drawing inspiration from her personal experiences and travels around the world.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Alekos Fassianos Museum.
