Metsovo Junior High School | Renovation of the Basketball Court

Mazi gia to Paidi has completed the renovation of the basketball court at Metsovo Junior High School, as part of the “Together in Remote Areas” program, with the kind support of bwin.

The renovation included the installation of a reinforced acrylic floor, new court markings, replacement of the backboards with modern hoops and nets, and the addition of protective padding to the basketball posts. In addition, new sports equipment was provided to further support physical activity.

The school currently serves 82 students supported by 8 teachers, and shares its premises with the Metsovo Senior High School and Vocational School (EPAL), forming an educational complex with a total of 165 students, all of whom now enjoy a renewed and functional space for sports and recreation.

This is the second school sports facility renovated in the Regional Unit of Ioannina, following the completion of works at the 13th Primary School of Ioannina.

Program Goal

The Remote Areas program aims to ensure equal access to quality education and sports for children and young people living in Greece’s remote and border regions. Through its interventions, Together for Children and its partners support the development of infrastructure and the improvement of educational conditions in schools.
