Helpline 115 25 & Counseling Center of “Together for Children”: Supported 2,286 Beneficiaries Nationwide in the First Half of 2024
The Helpline 115 25 & the Counseling Center of “Together for Children,” through its free services, supported 2,286 parents, educators, and adolescents nationwide in the first half of 2024. The scientific team of “Together for Children” provided counseling through 1,199 calls from across Greece. Notably, about 1 in 2 beneficiaries called the helpline again, reaching a repeat call rate of 50%. The most popular issues concerning the service’s beneficiaries include: stress management and exams, family communication, setting boundaries, school bullying, psychosocial development of infants and toddlers, adolescence, children and the internet, and divorce with children.
Offering Free Counseling Services Across Greece
The scientific team of “Together for Children” conducted 58 online and in-person psychoeducational seminars for 1,055 adolescents, parents, and educators. Through these psychoeducational seminars, students are informed about issues that often concern them, while parents are assisted, either in-person or online, in exploring, understanding, and resolving communication difficulties with their children.
Simultaneously, “Together for Children” held 18 group counseling sessions for parents aimed at training and guiding them in more effective parenting models. These sessions are targeted at parents with preschool-aged children (2-6 years), school-aged children (6-12 years), and adolescents (12-18 years).
Additionally, 35 counseling sessions were held for parents and adolescents, totaling 1,980 minutes. “Together for Children” offers cycles of parental counseling for parents with children from 0 to 18 years old, consisting of 8 sessions, either in-person or online. The intervention focuses on helping parents develop functional ways of connecting and communicating within the family, enhancing communication among family members, and supporting their role as parents.
