George Theofanous – “35 I Love You… Together for Children” | October 11, Odeon of Herodes Atticus
George Theofanous, the composer and songwriter with great timeless hits, celebrates his 35 years in Greek music, TOGETHER with his friends FOR CHILDREN, in a concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus on Friday, October 11th, at 8:30 PM. All proceeds will be donated to “Together for Children” Association.
Performing (in alphabetical order): Konstantinos Argyros, Melina Aslanidou, Christos Dantis, Evridiki, Kostas Makedonas, Pitsa Papadopoulou, Antonis Remos, Peggy Zina.
With maestro George Theofanous on the piano, major hits from the composer’s 35-year career in Greek music will be presented, accompanied by a 14-member orchestra under the musical direction of Leonidas Tzitzos. Participating soloists (in alphabetical order) include Thanos Giouletzis – violin, Nikos Zoidakis – lyre, and Manolis Karantinis – bouzouki.
On stage, there will also be more than 100 choir members from the following choirs: Children’s Choir of Dionysos Municipality (conducted by Chrysoula Tsimouri), Children’s Choir of St. Barbara Church in Argyroupoli (conducted by Lora Petropoulou – Eleonora Zacharia), Cantus Atenas Children’s Choir (conducted by Dimitra Chanou), and Con Anima Children’s Choir of Ergani Association (conducted by Ioulia Tzanetoulakou).
The choir members will perform for the first time a new song, composed by George Theofanous with lyrics by Thanos Papanikolaou, inspired by phrases written by the children of the “Together for Children” Association in their notes and drawings, dedicated to children all around the world.
