A unique evening for the children of the “Together for Children” Association

At the packed Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne captivated the audience with their uniqueness and rich repertoire of dance and music.

The performance, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Mikis Theodorakis, took place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, with the generous support of the AKTOR Group, and all proceeds will be donated to the “Together for Children” Association.

In the first part of the evening, the audience was taken on a journey into the artistic world of Maurice Béjart through the segment titled “Béjart et nous”. An artistic proposal sensitively curated by Julien Favreau, it delved into Béjart’s extensive body of work, interpreted by today’s dancers of his company. With music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Strauss, Jacques Brel, and traditional sounds from various parts of the world, spectators enjoyed a truly unique performance.

The second part was dedicated to Mikis Theodorakis, a personal friend and source of inspiration for Maurice Béjart. The iconic choreography “7 Greek Dances”, set to the music of the great Greek composer, mesmerized the audience, creating a unique atmosphere. It was a special interpretation of the authentic steps of Greek dancers, as envisioned by Maurice Béjart—an artistic vision that remains alive over time.

Maurice Béjart, one of the pioneers of modern dance, gave new life to dance expression through his masterful works. Since their founding in 1987, and for 20 years, he directed the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, a timeless reference point in the world of dance.

The proceeds from the evening will be exclusively used to support the member organizations of the “Together for Children” Association.
