"Together for Children" Association is one of the 100 Giving Partners of TOMS worldwide, aiming to donate new pairs of shoes to children in need. The collaboration was announced at the opening ceremony of TOMS new store in Thessaloniki on May 21.
In this context, the Association began its distributions of shoes from early May, having as an objectiver to meet the needs of more than 200 institutions that support families in need, orphans and refugee children across the country, aspiring to offer 25,000 new pairs of shoes for the 2015 summer season with the assistance of TOMS.
"We feel great pride and gratitude for this cooperation. Our goal is to make the most of TOMS’ donation, in helping thousands of children in need across Greece. A pair of new shoes, has a significant impact on the health and psychology of a deprived child ", states Ms. Alexandra Martinou, Vice-President of the "Together for Children” Association.
"Together for Children" was established in Greece in 1996 in cooperation with ten non-profit organizations and institutions working for the welfare of more than 10,000 children each year. Through the "I offer because I care" program it brings together food and basic necessities to meet basic needs of more than 100 child protection agencies.
TOMS was founded in 2006 with the main philosophy "One For One", offering for every sale a new pair of shoes to a child in need. Today, TOMS has given over 35 million pairs of shoes and works with over 100 non-profit organizations and institutions worldwide (TOMS Giving Partners), contributing in critical areas such as health and education.
The cooperation aims at the long-term improvement of the lives of children supported by “Together for Children”.
